This is an online booklet which highlights a line of guidance from Dulux Trade and explains how it is working alongside contractors to meet it's ambitious targets including economic, social & environmental elements of sustainability. It is also a valuable guide to tradesmen, assisting them in becoming more sustainable in their selection, application & disposal of products.

Dulux have decided on a key concept of 'possibilities' for it's 2012 ColourFutures Collection, encouraging people to look at their 'opportunistic' surroundings and combine old and new materials to develop new colour concepts. The collection comprises of bold, full bodied colours complemented by pastel hues through to edgy brights.
Dulux have used a variety of cultural sources including global themes to comprise five key trends for 2012:
Delicate Mix:- Designs that offer silence and visual stillness, exuding subtlety without expressing glitz and excess through wealth using elegant neutrals, warm caramels, corals and nude pinks.
One Small Seed:- This celebrates humans connection with nature and is designed to showcase nature's beauty by a compilation of watery greens, blossoms and dark soil shades.
Living Scrapbook:- In a world where through social media, privacy issues are constantly challenged, this collection is designed to change they way we think about our boundaries. Creativity should have no boundaries, and this theme contains happy, yet mature, pastels and modern shades to create a warm, happy, charming edge.
Different Worlds:- Based on parallel worlds through state of the art technology, this theme captures the essence of reality and escapism, by surrounding us in dreamy colours through to solid real shades including velvety blues through to delicate pinks.
Rediscovered Heroes:- Appreciation of simple and ordinary things around the home, promoting new possibilities in ordinary objects. Incorporating colours inspired by down to earth qualities discovered in industrial heritage & masculinity, such as: denim blues, industrial neutrals and rusty tones.

Dulux Trade is continuing to support contractors & clients specification requirements with the launch of it's latest woodcare specifier guide. It is designed to assist in choosing the perfect coating with confidence, providing all the information needed to achieve a high standard professional finish every time. It consists of both Exterior & Interior product information, alongside a vast array of colours to provide various exciting creative possibilities.
Many customers now prefer a more elegant, contemporary, low sheen finish for their wood and metal work, which is why Crown have launched their new Acrylic Satin Finish. It can be used on areas previously painted with a solvent gloss, will not visibly yellow and is virtually solvent free. It is also quick drying and offers a more contemporary finish in terms of whiteness and sheen level.
As a result of the changes in legislation regarding VOC contents within solvent based paint, tradesmen had begun to notice an increase in the 'yellowing' effect the re-formulated paint had. Dulux Trade launched an investigation into ways of reducing this 'yellowing' effect in their solvent based gloss, therefore improving the overall finish without compromising on ease of application. The result is a product guaranteeing a longer lasting, whiter than ever finish.
Dulux Trade has launched a new and improved Trade Vinyl Matt, delivering a better finish and with less impact on the environment. Dulux Trade has also incorporated the technology and research behind it's Ecosure range of paints to make the Vinyl Matt better for the environment with 15% lower embodied carbon and a 20% reduction in water. At AJM Decorating we fully support this move as it is just one of the latest developments in Dulux Trade's Step Towards Greener Initiative, the company's sustainability programme.
